  1. Removal of a gearbox can be a big job depending on what model of car it is. I bet they're playing it safe mind. A clutch shouldnt go at 27k under normal driving conditions. If the pedal has gone to the floor then I'd agree with the AA diagnosis. What I'll suspect they'll do if they find it's the hydraulic system, replace the relevant part under then try and get you to pay for a new clutch. As it's under warranty this should be changed anyway as there would be no point fitting a used clutch but Audi should pay this. I'd wait to see what they come back and say the problem is. Also I trust you have a copy of the AA report as evidence if required? Cheers Steve
  2. Hi there, I believe it's the bulb failure light. My advice would be to check to see if a bulb has blown. If it's a brake light then it'll bing at you when you press the brake too. Cheers Steve
  3. Fantastic Chris, glad you got it fixed easily and cheaply 🙂 Cheers Steve
  4. If you're asking what mods are available on the 2.5tdi then you'll be disappointed as I don't believe there's many. You could always fit an induction kit, sports exhaust and a remap. I know on the a6 c5 which have this engine on a original tune of tune of either 150bhp (like mine) or in Quattro form/allroad had 180bhp. But the 180bhp variant had an updated fuel pump I believe. If you've got 150bhp version then you might need the upgraded fuel pump if you want to go beyond 180. Cheers Steve
  5. If it were me I'd try a local auto locksmith. It's what I've done previously. If you go to Audi, expect to pay for £300 I recon. Cheers Steve
  6. Hope the engine and airbag issues are as simple as they appear. The compressor controls the air pressure. If it wasn't working then the car would drop to the floor. Cheers Steve
  7. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 Please see the link to my thread on here for 1.8t mods. Cheers Steve
  8. Glad you've found this post useful 🙂 I personally haven't used the Bluetooth products so can't recommend any unfortunately. My advice would be to Google them and look at the reviews. Cheers Steve
  9. First thing id check is that everything for the air con system has been tightened up. Then I'd inspect the condenser. In failing that it could be the controls. Cheers Steve
  10. Hi Mike, as you seem mechanically minded, I think your best course of action would be to dismantle the dpf and examine it's condition. Clean it a f change the second sensor or both and then see if that sorts it. Cheers Steve
  11. No I don't believe it will. If you want a sports exhaust then I'd recommend Powerflow. My mate and brother have both had exhausts from.them and the quality abd sound is superb. Cheers Steve
  12. Welcome to the forum Joe, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 Sounds like you've got a good project there 👍 Cheers Steve
  13. Sounds like you've made a good start David, hope the garage rectify the suspension, airbag and engine faults. Don't let them fob you off. The MMI upgrade is very expensive if you get someone to install it. Cheers Steve
  14. Have you changed both level sensors? Does the car change ride height ok? If it were a compressor then I it would be sat on.the floor. If you had a leak in the system then it would go.down over a period of time ie over night. Cheers Steve
  15. Please keep us posted. Sorry what you tried didnt work. Cheers Steve
  16. Glad you've got it working can't explain why though unless when you set it Scandinavian dRL it reset the system? Cheers Steve
  17. The first thing I'd be checking is the battery. Is it holding charge etc. Yod be surprised how many electrical problems can stem from a worn out battery. Cheers Steve
  18. Yep it's a faff. The bumper has to come off for you to replace the grill I believe band you have to get at some of it by removing the wheels and wheel arch liners. I also believe the rs6 grill from the same era fits too. Cheers Steve
  19. Welcome to the forum Mark, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 it could be a faulty motor. Can be fixed with a simple overhaul and less than £100 rather than £1500 quoted by Audi. One repairer is Autoelectron via Ebay: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/autoelectron From what I hear they're very helpful and quick turnaround. Definitely worth checking out. I have no association with them. Or it could be one of the micro switches is stuck open and is preventing the system from continuing the full cycle. Best way is to stick the manual key between the rear seat cavity and reset it manually. move it up or down until fully close or fully open, remove the key and try with the switch, is always better with the engine running as it takes a lot of power to operate a full cycle. Hope I've helped. Cheers Steve
