  1. Sorry to hear of all your bad luck. It's the kind of luck I have too! I'm not sure if it will work as I'm sure the ECU for auto is slightly different. My advice would be to speak to a ECU specialist or Audi to see if it'll fit. Cheers Steve
  2. Next: weekend
  3. Well they're new q7s so it's a recent film. I guessing something gangster or spy related?
  4. Here's a link to an article about Volkswagens current emissions issue. https://autoevoke.com/index.php?/forums/topic/2088-volkswagen-deliveries-halted-by-wltp-emissions-certification/
  5. Welcome to the forum Neil, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 have you had a diagnostic check carried out at all? If not then this is what I would recommend. I'm guessing you're not losing any coolant etc. also it could be caused by failing crank sensors. also what colour is exhaust smoke? As this can be a tell tale sign there's an issue. cheers Steve
  6. Hi Kalle, in the UK it might be worth you trying a company could powerflow exhausts. They're all custom made. Cheers Steve
  7. Welcome to the forum Richard, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 you have a very nice a4 it looks in good condition 🙂 seats wise, think the fronts will fit ok but I'm unsure about the rear seats. My advice would be to find a set of seats and door cards from another b6 and would say eBay is your best bet. cheers Steve
  8. Here you go 🙂 next topic is WORK
  9. Welcome to the forum Neil, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 with the age and mileage of a4 you're looking at is checking the service history. This should ideally be full. You should check to see if the a4 you're looking at has had the emissions recall carried out. If it's just been done and it's up for sale then you have to question why. The dpf should be fine as long as the car hasn't been subjected to short runs in town etc. cheers Steve
  10. Welcome to the forum Steve, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 nice looking Q5 you have and a great colour and spec 🙂 cheers Steve
  11. If a garage has said it'll work then I'd go with what they say. Im assuming the gearbox isn't free?
  12. Result. I'm wondering if the password from last year is the same for this year? I'm checking to see what it was now.
  13. Welcome to the forum Paul, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 have you checked the linkages? Or had a garage have a look at your gearbox? think you'll need a DRW gearbox on my opinion. cheers Steve
  14. Welcome to the forum Bill, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 With regard to serving it depends on what engine you have. But on a lot of Audi's it's 2 years/20k or 1 year 10k depending on which plan the car left with. I suspect yours is on.the one year plan and I think you could be right about the countdown starting once the car left the factory. my advice would be to ring round the local Audi dealers to see which is cheapest and you may find that one of them may have an offer on for oil changes. Your other option is to take it to a local garage or Audi specialist and as long as they use genuine Audi parts and oil for the service, your warranty will still be valid. cheers Steve
  15. Now if I recall misting on shocks is fine, but you'll need to replace them once they start leaking. They can be Misty for a very long time before they start to leak and it's not an MOT failure for them to be Misty (I think, was the case on the old rules). However, it might be worth you checking with the new MOT rules that came into force last May as this could be classed as a fail now, but I doubt it. Other members my correct me on this if I'm wrong. Now correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't your a5 have a brake pad warning light? I know my much older a6 does and it's at that point the brake pads need changing. Cheers Steve
  16. You're welcome 🙂 as you've tried another a4 my theory is that the two systems aren't designed to work together for some strange reason. have you spoke to Audi about this?
  17. Wow, it certainly sounds a bicer motor! Does amaze me how Austin still has a connection to people long after the brand is gone. The first ever car my family owned was a second hand 1930s Austin 10 chrome grill (1932-1934 model) in black, purchased in approx 1954. My grandad bought it from a scrapyard and did it up to some degree. Used it a number of years then scrapped it himself.
  18. They're lovely motors and the avant is so practical 🙂
  19. It's a tricky question if no one has seen the part before. Especially something bso small it would be easily missed by most. I wonder if it's a gromet holding the bonnet insulation in place? Or a gromet to fit somewhere near the bulkhead? My suspicion is that there will be lots of them somewhere in the engine bay, like the bulkhead area etc.
  20. Welcome to the forum Simon, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 do you know if your power steering is elecric or hydraulic? This should be in the manual. If it's electric I'm wondering if it's worth getting the battery tested as a lot if electrical issue ls can be traced back to a failing battery. If it's hydraulic, have you checked the fluid level? A leak would obviously affect nthe steering. if it's not that, have you hit anything recently? Pot hole, animal etc which could have knocked out the tracking or bent a track rod etc? cheers Steve
  21. Hi Andy, I suspect the q5 would need to go in for the day but apart from recoding I don't think Audi would want to do much. I would definitely get them to check the wireless cradle though, as it should work every time in my opinion. Cheers Steve
  22. Welcome to the forum Jack, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 my key question is where did you get your car serviced and who told you you need new shocks and brakes? audi do offer a free health check if you're not convinced on what your garage has said. cheers Steve
  23. Supras are lovely! And to be fair the 535d is one of the quicker diesel out there. The s4 will be nice as the quattro will be ideal for your scotish winters 🙂 Don't be put off by the auto as it isn't a bad gearbox 🙂 cheers Steve
