  1. LONDON (Reuters) - Audi sacked German driver Daniel Abt from their Formula E team because he "made a conscious decision to go against the rules" in an esports competition, the German carmaker said on Wednesday. Abt, who announced on Tuesday he had lost his seat, was punished for getting a professional gamer to compete for him in the "Race at Home Challenge", a virtual series involving regular drivers from the all-electric championship. Audi said in a statement that it stood by its culture of tolerating mistakes but what had happened on Saturday was deliberate. "That is what makes the big difference for us," it explained. The decision to part company with a driver who won two races for the company in Formula E and has a sizeable social media following triggered dismay among some of the 27-year-old's rivals. It also raised further questions about how seriously motorsport should take the virtual versions of its championships. In a video message to fans on YouTube, Abt said he had made a mistake but denied cheating. He said he had been more interested in social media interaction than results and had intended to "create a funny story for fans" who weren't necessarily that interested in racing that bore little relation to the real thing. "Our goal was to entertain you, the fans at home," said the driver, who would have been out of contract at the end of a season stalled by COVID-19. "We emphasized from the beginning that for us and for me it is not about results in this online series. Personally it was not at all important to me right from the start as it was not at all the reason why I did it." Abt said his stream had more viewers for the first race than the official Formula E broadcast and he also had 350,000 subscribers on YouTube. "We had a lot of people watching it who didn’t care what placing I could get but they just liked the interaction of me talking to the fans during the race, of us commenting on the race," he added. I think the s5 and rs5 exhaust is different but I believe is interchangable. Cheers Steve
  4. Think the cvt was last used on Audi's up to 2005 or 2006. I'd say it's tiptronic in my opinion. Cheers Steve
  5. Have you had a diagnostic check carried out? If so what fault codes flagged up?
  6. Is this happening at certain revs? Certain road conditions? Driving or stationary? It could be a loose heatshield or underbody protector but could also be an engine mount antiroll bar links, ball joint on the steering rack.
  7. Audi rear wipers are famous for failing and it is due to corrosion through washer fluid leaking into the motor. I would say gears are blocked, because grease has mixed with washer fluid. Remove trim, remove motor, open motor housing, clean, install additional o-ring (so it never mixes again), use new grease (water resistant), close housing, test. If motor circuit is wet, maybe it is broken. The two wires you measured always have 12V, the other two are trigger from control unit, you cannot measure it with multimeter.
  8. Glad you got sorted 🙂 great advice for others in a similar situation. Cheers Steve
  9. Wondering if this is a sensor or wiring issue. I'd be taking it to an Audi specialist if it were mine.
  10. Think it's the same as the saloon and estate. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264747192819
  11. You sure it's a lever abd not a bracket? If it is a lever then I suspect it'll be mentioned in the hand book. Cheers Steve
  12. Please keep us posted on how you get on 👍 Cheers Steve
  13. Hi Dennis, I'm assuming the bushes and bolts were fitted at a different garage to the one trying to do the tracking? From what the tyre garage have said I'd be taking it back to the garage who did the bush abd bolt change to make sure the correct parts were fitted etc. Cheers Steve
  14. Hi Kris, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 The 8p is generally ba good car but good service history is key. As you've read the horror stories then it sounds like you've done a good portion of your research. This YouTube video might help: Cheers Steve

  16. Hi Carl I don't believe it needs coding to the car but it will have a 4 digit code that needs to be inputted before it'll work. Cheers Steve
  17. You're welcome 😊
  18. Sorry to hear of your saga glad the garage handled it well 👍 This video might help: Cheers Steve
  19. As it's a private seller there's no come back unfortunately. And yes they could have just cleared the codes. But you'd have to prove it abd take them thorough small claims court. I'd be taking your mechanics advise on this, as no amount of cleaning will fix a failing turbo. Cheers Steve
  20. This is an example of a big brake kit: https://www.killerbrakes.com/product/audi-rsq3-big-brake-upgrade-brembo-8pot-calipers-365mm-wave-brake-discs-new/ S3 brakes bolt straight on as long as you get all the bits. Here's the full list: You can install the S3 brakes on your car but you have to get all the parts, not just disks and pads. You need the calipers, the carriers and a few other bits.
