Audi A6c8 rear spring lower mounting corrosion
Mickwillow replied to Mickwillow's topic in Audi A6 (C8) Forum
I didn’t need to do anything apart of removing the lower stock mount bolt and then use a bottle jack and a piece of tube over the bottle jack top to the stock top mount fitting bolt , using a pair of springs compresses to compress the spring evenly enough to pull out the rubber mount I’ve got to thank Spartacus for his write up . And mine s a Quattro too a -
thats the only picture he sent me or i would have posted another!! thank you so so much all for your guys help, so so appreciative and will keep you all updated!!! 🙂

Hi. I have exactly the same problem on my 2016 A3. Thank you all for your endeavours to fix the problem, I hope mine will mend too......... ? I'll have to check in the morning the I have the same software; RMC_EU_P16342 If this is still relevant ? Have just scrolled to the top of my MEMORY list of radio stations and can't get 'Update Station List' I merely get the first Radio station in my list. Does anyone have any clues how I get the 'Update Station List' prompt up please ?

figo_rulz11 started following A4 B9 recirculation flap motor issue
-
I think the same thing has happened on my Audi A4 b9 2017. It looks easy enough to replace but not sure if it's recirculation or fresh air control motor. I need to find someone with VDCS who can do it for me, don't suppose you're near Northampton way by any chance? Do you know the part number?

I was planning on adding to the forum at the point there was something worthwhile to update the forum on. I didn't see the point in messaging regularly to say nothing new to report. Thankfully the warning has only appeared in few and far between instances recently. As noted above it only tends to be when starting the engine when already hot (after popping into a shop etc). Whilst I don't think the issue is gone, I have been very busy recently and dealing with the car has not been a priority. I am following the advice of my local mechanic and seeing how things go for now before deciding upon the next steps.

Thank you for the suggestion Gareth. I’ll have a look at the part website. I understand that now, thank you for your help. Dan

Thanks Dan, You could be right that there are indeed two thermostats. Worth checking LLL Parts website? ‘…. as simple as chuck a new one in to fix it..’ If you are asking me to guarantee that replacing the thermostat would fix the problem, then the answer is No. Like every other forum we can only make sensible suggestions. Regards, Gareth.

My thought was its the thermostat too. Maybe being stuck open slightly which then allows the coolant to run around the engine constantly. At city driving speeds the airflow is minimal so it allows engine to get up to temp. With more airflow at 70mph the radiator reduces the temp in the coolant allowing it to drop to 70 deg c. I think the thermostat still fully opens as I don't run hotter than 90c so may just need a clean or a couple coolant flushes to take away any possible gunk that's keeping it open. Though ive heard that there are 2 thermostats on these cars but I'm not sure I've got them.

Please share your own theories with us Dan.

Okay. Do you think it would be simple as to chuck a new one in to fix it?
-
Suspect thermostat Dan. Regards Gareth.

Hi all, I've noticed a small issue with my 2l tdi where in city driving my engine will warm up to 90 deg c and usually stay there but once im on a motorway it will drop to 70 deg c and hover around there. Engine runs like normal with no issues, new water pump + cambelt kit 4000 miles ago. Not had a chance to change the oil yet. I've got my own theories but thought I would pop the question out there and see if anyone has a clue as to whats going on. Cheers Dan
-
Difficult to say from your photo, but that may be the engine earth. Let’s hope it isn’t, since if it is, I would not think that in isolation would prevent the starter motor from doing at least something. Regards,Gareth.

Cheers. Glad to hear I'm not the only one😆

Glad the mechanic has got to the bottom of it 🙂 please keep us posted

Thank You for your reply.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I intend on steering clear of the cheap Chinese ones as the lag and slowdown on things like this will creep in over time. Happy to use a shop to buy/fit if it's a decent price overall.

PaulAFC84 started following Rear turn signal fault
-
Afternoon everyone, I’ve had an intermittent left turn signal fault show up on my 2014 Avant for a couple of weeks now. At first I thought it could be a faulty contact or damp inside the light cluster. On closer inspection, one of the LED’s for the indicator is not working. Could anyone assist with a genuine part number please? I had a look on the underside and it seems to A046318 but that shows up Mercedes parts on EBay. Thank you for any help, it is much appreciated. Paul.

judging by the photo im assuming the cables connected to either the starter/ battery but he didnt say. i hope so too only took the third time to the mechanics but finally something has been found !! i shall update when i hear back. thank you!!! much appreciated 🙂
-
I think it safe to say that we shall not hear from Martin again on this topic, so I shall stop following it.
-
That burnt cable would certainly explain the starting problem. I hope your mechanic is going to renew the cable rather then just wrapping bit of tape around it, and then secure the cable with a clip so that it does not flop around and wear the insulation off.
-
Thank you. One day somebody will bless you for that information.
