  1. Welcome to the forum David you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 The next show is the Bromley pageant of motoring. Please check it out on the national events section.
  2. You've done great amount of work so far. If it's not the switch then could it be a relay I wonder?
  3. Oh wow, I hadn't heard that one!
  4. Have the lenses gone cloudy? If so they can be machine polished either DIY or via a professional. I believe cleaning it with toothpaste with a toothbrush works too!
  5. Log into the myAudi app. From the Vehicle tab, select the Vehicle selector atop the screen. Select the + button on the top right of the screen. Identify the vehicle to delete, press down and swipe left. In the message that displays, select "Delete vehicle" Youll.have to delete the old car first via the instructions above ^^^ Then add the new car.
  6. We're you moving or stationary in D? I ask as it might narrow the noise down from engine noise or road noise coming through. If it's not something else instead.
  7. No probs at all 🙂
  8. Glad you got sorted. It's nice to know the aftermarket ones work just as well. Thanks for letting us know 😊
  9. Fantastic news glad you got sorted 🙂 thanks for letting us know the outcome ☺️
  10. That's great news 🙂 glad you got sorted in the end 😊
  11. Sorry I should have said if the lights are on permanently then it might be worth getting Audi to take a look.
  12. Now that sounds my kind of meet up! Where abouts in Ireland are you? I'll be visiting northern Ireland later this year.
  13. Keep us posted. It might be worth it going to Audi.
  14. Can't say I've heard of this before by if it's happening in drive then it's picking up road noise, engine noise etc. My advice would be to get it to a dealer and show them the fault. As it could be a faulty mic for example.
  15. Yep there's an adaptor you can buy from eBay. I never understood why they just didn't keep.the old style to be honest.
  16. Yep.it can be done, here's a link to a company that does it for an example: https://integratedautomotive.co.uk/product/audi-a3-2013-2019-8v-retrofit-carplay-and-android-auto-kit/ However I know other members have used autologics and highly recommend them for other retrofits.
  17. I believe premium membership is a subscription service on here and the reason why it's all free is due to advertising. I'm glad you raised this Gareth as I'd been having similar thoughts. At least it's not just me. I do agree that all forums will have this same issue of people ghosting. As I say, for me I just wish we could attract the same following as other clubs such as AOCUK & club Audi for example. Though the latter is a paid members only club.
  18. Thank you for your input Gregg, it's lovely to know that you find the forum useful and enjoy logging on. If and when I get to do the wild Atlantic way we'll have to have a meet up 🙂
  19. No probs at all. Please keep us posted on how you get on 🙂
  20. Thanks for your feedback. I personally don't feel a paid membership is the way to go. For me all I want is to have members who visit and contribute on the forum, Facebook or face to face at car shows regularly. The fact you're on here daily regularly is good enough for me 😊 as you say we're all different and I personally like going to the shows for the social aspect, seeing new places and the cars. I do enjoy helping people when they have questions or issues which is no different to my day to day job really
  21. That is more uncommon as most garages like to order the parts so they're fully covered I guess. My mechanic will usually order what my A6 needs unless it's more specialised or he can't get via is main sources.
  22. Glad you found the forum welcoming 🙂 and thank you for your comments on this. Are there any ideas/suggestions you have from things youve seen on other forums?
  23. I do fully appreciate where you're coming from Gareth, I've been speaking to Trevor about what we can do to retain members etc. My post can be found in our moderators section. I love helping others and setting up the shows but find it deflating when we get a low turn out for the shows. It's frustrating when you see fellow Audi clubs with large turnouts and we can only get a handful. This has got worse since COVID as we used to have good numbers prior. This includes loosing some regular members due to them joining other clubs or doing other activities. I think most people don't realise the level of investment the admin/moderators team make. You with your vast knowledge and in my case I research the topics once members ask a question which takes time. Plus updating the news section & Motorsport sections as well as the how to guides. I just wish we'd be able to increase our regular members base.
  24. The fact it hasn't got FSH with Audi shouldn't matter as the law dictates you can take your car to any VAT registered garage and as long as they've used genuine Audi parts your warranty would still stand. This came about as main dealers were locking customers in to servicing agreements which weren't best for the customer. I appreciate it is out if warranty but I'd still speak to Audi customer services as the component should not have failed at 50k miles. You could aldo register a claim with the motoring ombudsman. It would also be wise to get a quote from the Audi specialist you have it serviced with regularly to see what they quote.
