Weird buzzing noise
Is it inside the vehicle? Loose dash top trim is well documented

Very Low mpg - 2.0T
It's worrying there's no air filter. That needs sorting asap. Get the fault codes sorted too. What's the oil consumption like? And any smoke out of the exhaust and if so what colour? When was the car last serviced? Including fuel filter. Are these any boost leaks I wonder? 16mpg would be worse than a S3!

Wind deflectors
They help keep the car cool in summer as it allows you to leave the window open slightly regardless of it's sunny or raining. If you're a smoker then it reduces the risk of you getting wet when you get rid of the ash from the cigarette.

What is this message
I think you need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Very odd. Looks like it's giving you all the data of the current MMI version maybe

Which fuel type?
Any fuel will be fine. But they do say that supermarket fuel isn't as good.

A6 C5 cruise control stalk upgrade
Jack Balsdon: Knocked out a nice little upgrade this morning. The cruise buttons on the indicator stalk weren't working properly so I figured it was time for a new stalk, but wondered if the stalk style from a B5 Passat would work. These have the set/resume buttons as a rocker on the end of the stalk rather than the way the A6s have them which makes it much easier to use IMO. I couldn't find anything online about anyone else trying this but the pins and plugs looked the same between the two stalks on online listings so I tried it. Perfect plug and play, absolutely worth it if you use your cruise a lot and like to use the + and - buttons to modulate your speed. The correct VAG P/N is on the Meyle box in the pictures, cost just over £30.

Sorry to hear this Tony, but I fully understand your reasoning. You've been a valued member of the club and you're more than welcome to stay despite not having an Audi. All the best Steve

Audi A6 c5 2.5tdi buyers guide
You're welcome glad the guide was useful. I'd recommend a gearbox oil service to see if that solves the gearbox issue. I suspect though it's a megatronics unit failure. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up.
