  1. Have you had a diagnostic check carried out at all? This definitely sounds like a wiring issue to me. Cheers Steve
  2. Well I'd just be careful. It might be worth you having an independent inspection carried out by companies such as the AA or RAC. If the dealer refuses or is reluctant then I would say the dealer or car has more to hide! Cheers Steve
  3. Above are 3 pics of Audi's in new york which I saw whilst I was away. Can you believe that whilst in the Caribbean I did not see ONE Audi!! Plenty of Jap cars though. Cheers Steve
  4. I would definitely keep one back as an example. Your the 3rd person now. I think Dunlop are trying to brush this issue under the carpet.
  5. Welcome to the forum Lee :) You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Great choice on having B&O it's a great system :) you should be able to adjust the settings in the mmi I believe. Did you not got a handbook with it when you colleted it? Cheers Steve
  6. Hi Bradley, your not thinking of getting rid of the a4 now are you?! Obviously check service history, this ideally should be full and check to see if the cambelt and water pump has been changed as on the age of cars you'll be looking at, they should all be due or have had them changed. Also make sure all electronic items work as they can be expensive to fix. Are you thinking of manual or auto? And are you wanting Quattro? Cheers Steve
  7. I would have to agree and suggest this issue was caused by low battery voltage. It's amazing how many electronic issues can be traced back to a low battery. If the battery is low then this will prevent the start stop to not work as it takes alot on the battery if that makes sense. Sounds like everything is back to normal now though :) Cheers Steve
  8. Hi Ray I believe it'll be on.obe of the side boot panels but unsure which one. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  9. I'm not sure if they'll fit to be honest Paul. I suspect they will to be honest :) Cheers Steve
  10. Welcome to the forum Adam you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Its worth trying Audi but I'd doubt they'll be able to help. You'll also need all the door lock barrels as well from the donor car. How have you managed to get in the car without a key? Cheers Steve
  11. Keep us posted on how you get on Andrei and glad your on your way to diagnosing the problem :) When you get a chance feel free to post a pic of your a6 in France in our Audi's from around the world section :) Cheers Steve
  12. I think you'll find the faults are linked. On the c5 the water drain points in the battery area can become clogged with foliage and dirt etc. This then means water cabt escape via the channels and thus enters the cabin through the normal holes in the bulkhead for wiring. The water then floods the footwell and in the process can damage the fusebox behind the dash. This I believe is what's caused your electrical issues. Normally to resolve the issues the footwell and other wet areas need to dry out then you'll need to get a diagnostic check carried out. Worst case scenario is that some of the electronic modules are wrecked. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  13. Hi Gary have you felt the clutch change whilst in your ownership? I got heavier or slipping etc? Also what's the mileage on your a3? I can't comment on the bite point on the 1.5 as I've not driven it, sorry. Have you taken it to Audi at all? As the car is under warranty but obviously the clutch is only covered in rare circumstances. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  14. Welcome to the forum Gavin :) You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Have you spoke to Audi? As your car is still covered under warranty. Cheers Steve
  15. Nice one Tina! Did you have new seats or have them fitted into your current seats?
  16. Hi Andrew glad you got this sorted and good on you for questioning the labour price! All sorted and happy motoring :) Cheers Steve
  17. Glad you've had a great experience from the main dealer Andrew :) the good experiences are often not mentioned compared to people's bad experiences. Cheers Steve
  18. Welcome to the forum Cliff you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) I'd say it's the switch mechanism which is at fault here. I believe this is a common fault but don't quote me on this. Cheers Steve
  19. Welcome to the forum Tina, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) The two options you have is either replace the front seats with ones fitted with heated seats as standard. Or the other option is to have your seats dismantled and having the heater elements installed. Once either option has been chosen then you will need the wiring loom installed and switches fitted. This may require a different facia panel on the dash. It will also then be needed to be coded into the cars computer. Either way it will be very expensive to retro fit the heated seats but it can be done. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  20. Welcome to the forum Colin you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Have you had a diagnostic check carried out at all? I'm wondering if it could be a camshaft or sensor? But I am really guessing here. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  21. Welcome to the forum James :) you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch. How odd. Have you had a diagnostic check carried out at all? Cheers Steve
  22. Welcome to the forum Gary :) You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Good choice on the a3 but in terms of gearbox it's personal preference. You will pay more for an auto box though and it's very important that you check that the gears change smoothly both in manual and auto modes and that the oil has been changed at the correct intervals. Quattro is another personal preference but again make sure it works as it should. Any shudders under hard acceleration could signify an issue with it. The Quattro system is also very sensitive and can be damaged by simple things like uneven Tyre wear. Ideally the tyres should match on the axel. As with any car make sure everything works as certain parts such as air con pumps etc can be expensive to fix. Obviously make sure the air con isn't blowing warm when on the cold setting. Also check to see when the cambelt and water pump was last changed as this will be expensive to change. Ideally you want a car with fsh and if you can try and get an independent inspection carried out. Companies such as the AA and RAC offer this service. If the seller is reluctant or refuses then you have to wonder what they or the car has to hide! Here's a YouTube video which may help you: Hope I'v helped :) Cheers Steve
