  1. On top of this I believe Audi did a recall for water ingress into the boot. Which included changing the rear window, seals and rear lights. But I'm unsure on the exact models affected and can't seem to find too much info about it. Sorry.
  2. Welcome to the forum Jamie, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) I suspect your a6 has headlight washers and obviously in the cold weather it's frozen whilst spraying and got stuck open. Not fully sure how to put it back in but I wouldn't push it in case it breaks. It might be worth you pouring warm water on it and the all the other nozzels and then activate the washers to see if that fixes it. Cheers Steve
  3. Ah, got ya. I can see where he's coming from but I think in most real life scenarios it won't be too much of an issue. Especially if you're over taking tractors and lorries etc. Have you decided on having quattro then?
  4. Welcome to the forum will, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) I believe when water starts to get in to the boot it gets into the wiper motor and eventually breaks it. Think you'll need a new motor to be honest. But it's worth you checking the wiring hasn't corroded which could have caused it to stop working. Cheers Steve
  5. Welcome to the forum Debbie, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) My advice would be to get a diagnostic check carried out to see what fault codes flag up. I will suspect it may require ban auto electrician to fix the problem. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  6. Welcome to the forum Mat, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) It's off that the car is not flagging up any fault codes as id argue bit isn't normal. Has it been happening more lately in this cold weather? If it is happening in the warm then questions do need to be asked. However to be on the safe side you could always get a compression test carried out. I'd also watch your oil level as the petrol engines have been known to burn oil. Often the repair that is required is new pistons etc! This is a worst case scenario though. Cheers Steve
  7. Correct Pete! Here's a new one :)
  8. Maybe I'm just a stick in the mud then as I feel changing a manufacturers badge or grill as a no no as you loose your usp as people know your product either by the badge or the grill. Especially important when you debadge it ;)
  9. Sorry I'm about confused, what is as quick in fwd compared to quattro? Needless to say I can't see it making much of a difference when over taking with fwd or quattro unless you're driving in snow or other bad weather of course.
  10. Lol you're correct Paul! :) I think you're finding these too easy! Here's another Audi from a British crime drama. The clue is that one of the detectives drove a green triumph stag. Excuse the poor picture quality, I was struggling to upload this one!
  11. Id never let go of the steering wheel in my opinion regardless of weather conditions. Let go of the accelerator and drive in the highest gear possible is the main advice. My key question would be, what road were you driving on to go 30mph? If there's ice and snow I always venture on the side of caution unless I know the roads clear. Cheers Steve
  12. Gritters, what are they? I can't say I've seen any whilst I've been out in this weather!
  13. Yep :) have you guessed the new one Paul?
  14. Same here in the Midlands!
  15. Correct Paul :). however in.tbe states it was called a fox. Here's a new one, it's a Scottish detective series.
  16. Glad you crossed the updated cars off your list. I would suspect that there is a way of finding out via vcds however I don't know the version number I'm affraid. To be fair, any car you're looking at purchasing the dealer should be happy to oblige when you explain the reason. Better still there should be a certificate to show the recall has been completed and stamped by the Audi dealer who carried out the recall. This is how it worked at volkswagen. Cheers Steve
  17. Does look very nice overall but.im still unsure about the new Audi grill.
  18. I'll say you got that one Paul and move on to the next one. But before I do, can you guess the Audi?!
  19. It definitely looks better ;) Erm I think it depends on the spec and what media system and MMI it has.
  20. Correct Paul!! Here's another oldie! This is from.a marvel tv series from the 70s.
  21. Hi Logan, when I worked at volkswagen we saw alot of cars come in for the emissions recall but would have recorded dpf issues stored on the ecu as well as egr issues. We'd also have cars have issues after the recall but vag stand point is that these issues aren't connected. If it we're me I wouldn't be touching a vag car if it's had the emissions recall and up for sale shortly after. Have a look under the recall section as there is lots of info. Buy basically any vag diesel made after 2006 could be affected. Cheers Steve
