  1. Il keep an eye out for you! :) unfortunately there are some real scumbags out there! Glad you've got the problems ironed out now though :) Its not a bad thing wanting to keep it for ever and I'm guessing by the mileage it's a diesel. The 1.9 and 2.5tdi engines were 2 of the best vag engines ever produced and as long as they're looked after they'll run and run and run! My a6 has the 2.5tdi engine and it's covered 321,300 miles so far! That's on the original engine and gearbox! Second turbo though. Original was replaced at 3 years old at 75k. I don't intend to get rid of it either as my dad bought it new in 2002 :) here's some iv found on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192185206170 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172672010172 not perfect by any means!
  2. Welcome to the forum Ade :) as of yet no, but could be a good idea! Its certainly something I hadn't thought of! The roads up north are amazing and the views are stunning! Have a look at the club events, your more than welcome to come along and meet fellow members as well as displaying your Audi as well! Cheers steve
  3. Your welcome :) good to have you on board :) i prefer the a7 over the q5 I think it's a nicer car to drive especially on the motorway and certainly a nicer car to look at! 204bhp is plenty to be honest and you got it in the good spec! What colour did you go for?
  4. Hi mark welcome to the forum :) a wise move switching to a leather interior :) what colour are you after as il do some digging :) cheers Steve
  5. We have VAG Tuner Live at donington park on the Sunday 16th July and Audis in the park on Sunday 13th august :) they are for all our members. We have 4 members going to Vag Tuner Live myself included who are displaying their cars and 3-4 of us at Audis in the park. Would be great to have an r8 on the display! Check out the events page and give me a shout if your interested :) cheers steve
  6. Audi would be your best bet. I'm sure they would have to order the key from Germany. And order it by using your chassis number. Cheers steve

  13. Hi Chris, welcome to the forum :) sorrynto hear of your situation, what are you changing to? Its probs worth you putting an ad in our for sale section :) how old is the a6? Cheers steve
  14. Hello olgert, as has already been mentioned by magnet the shocks should be changed in pairs :) im wondering if the R8 has the metal files (metal shards) in the shocks similar to what the Audi TT mk2 had? The idea behind the metal shards was when they were magnetised it would stiffen the ride. Could be controlled by the driver from within the cabin. It was an optional extra on the mk 2 TT but I wonder if it was standard on the R8. This could be what the mechanic is referring too. Cheers Steve
  15. Gotcha! Truthfully I think the only way you'll know if it's the socket is by buying one. But like you said that's not something you necessarily want to do if it's the wiring. The other option is to go whole hog and replace both
  16. Good shout Darren. Meeting at donny services sounds like a good plan :) you decided to display your Audi then Darren?! ;) and im the same, iv not met anyone else from on here yet
  17. Thanks Dan :) il do a full report when I return :)
  18. No worries :) hmmm, what do you use the cigarette lighter for? You could be overloading the socket. The wiring can't take a great level of voltage etc.
  19. This I would imagine some form of recall. Probably a computer software update. Cheers Steve
  20. Your welcome :) oh you can't keep em clean in the poor weather!
  21. Thanks Dan, dont worry I will be keeping an eye on it. If it happens again I think il have to have the servo or abs module replaced. Thanks for your advice :) cheers steve
  22. Good article there Trevor :)
