Newbie with an itch to scratch
You're welcome :) Hmm, in my opinion if you're mechanic is worried then.you should be too. If it's not the sensor then.it could be much worse. There will.be plenty out there if you've got time to wait :) Cheers Steve

Washer pump not working
That might not be a bad idea and get a diagnostic check carried out. Cheers Steve

Welcome to the forum Sean, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) You're making a good choice of Audi! The 3.2 is a lovely engine especially as it'll come with the dsg auto gearbox and Quattro :) It's definitely a future classic and colour, options and service history affect the value :) Cheers Steve

Buying an a4 2.0 Fsi or T fsi
You're welcome, glad I could help :) There is definitely some luck involved! But as I say a car with good service history helps and if the sellers excuse for the sale seems genuine. My other bit of advice would be for you to do a hpi check on any cat you're looking at buying that is being sold by a private seller. Also it's worth looking at getting an independent inspection carried out by companies such as the AA or RAC. This is regardless if it's a garage or private seller. The benefit of this is you get peace of mind but if the seller is reluctant or refuses to allow you to have an independent inspection then you have to wonder what they or the car has to hide! Cheers Steve

Buying an a4 2.0 Fsi or T fsi
Hmm that's a tough question. I believe the 1.8 is supposed to be tough but obviously it's all about the service history :) I do believe the 2.0 does have oil usage issues but again it all comes down to how looked after it is. In my opinion. Truthfully I'm.more used to VAG diesels then petrols. At least with petrol you don't have to worry about a dog, egr or the dreaded emissions recall! Also try and get one with as lower mileage as possible :)

COLD WIND IN CABIN
No worries. Sorry I can't help more. When it has happened to me on other manufacturers cars I found it was under the dash. I wonder if it's the lower dash vents? On a Suzuki I found the draft coming from around the centre console and tunnel tray (near the handbrake). But never got to the bottom exactly on this one!

COLD WIND IN CABIN
Hi David, welcome to the forum. You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) sorry to hear of your issue. I've never experienced it with an Audi before but have experienced it with Fords and certain Japanese cars before. As your a3 is going in for a recall it might be worth you asking Audi to have a look got you. They'll also do a free health check on the car when it goes in. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers :) Steve

Audi a1 power steering fault
Welcome to the forum Jason, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) As Paul has said, a diagnostic check would be a good idea. But to be fair it could be as simple as the battery on it's way out. It might be worth you getting your battery tested. When batteries start to fail they can cause all sorts of electrical issues including power steering issues. Has the car battery gone flat at all? Cheers Steve

Odd boost issue
Hi Ben, It might be worth.yku getting a diagnostic check carried out. But I'd guess it could be the turbo or leaking pipe. Leaking pipes are easy to fix however if it's the turbo then it'll be expensive. My sister had a similar issue on her golf mk4 1.9tdi 115bhp and some of the blades within the turbo had broken. This was preventing her having the acceleration when she needed it. After the new turbo was fitted the car has been fine ever since. Hope I've helped Cheers :) Steve

Hi Steve, Sorry to hear about this. I've had a look online and haven't found a part number. Sorry. On looking on eBay there seem to be undertrays for sale in there. It might be worth you asking Audi for the part number. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
