Hi All. this started a week ago. The sunroof blind works fine. No issues at all. The sunroof does not open much - the motor sounds okay, it opens about 2 inches - upto the point where the wind deflector should start to rise up - then clunks and stops. It closes okay. seems to not be the motor as that doesn’t sound to be struggling at all. Lots of squeaks like it’s dry then a clunk and it stops dead, but I can’t get to the rail/ track to grease it. Does anybody know how to manually wind it open, on a 2018 MK2 FY model - so I can see the tracks and lube them up 🙂

Hi guys first time post have been a member for a few months now and already gained some great knowledge from this forum, my partner and i recently swapped our A3 1.6tdi s line for same year Q5 2.0tdi s line stronic, already loving how nippy the car is for being slightly bigger and i love some pointers for q5 owners ie what issues to look out for etc and also have already planned to black out the car (powdercoat the alloys black, tint windows and tail lights and also do a chrome delete including swapping to black badges) for that sporty look, I'd love to hear if anyone else has done this with theres and what to look out for and any suggestions of what other modifications you'd recommend, also i was looking online and it isnt clear but we've noticed the car has brembo brakes was this standard from audi for this model/spec or would this have been done by previous owner, many thanks

Hi, currently have an A6 (my 1st ever Audi) and absolutely love it but the time has come to replace it and I was thinking of going for a used Q5, roughly 3 years old. Before I start looking, is there anything I should look for (was advised when I got the A6 so make sure gearbox oil had been changed at 60k etc). Are these generally reliable cars? Are the service costs high? Thanks for any advice

Hi all Im a long term Audi owner, recently purchased an Audi Q5 2.0 tdi auto, 2010 Its done 120,000 and I dont have much of the past history. So the issue: when coming to a stop, the car jerks few times. On a few occasions the cars stalled. There is a mild judder on take off but after that car drives superb. I've done a full service inc gearbox oil and filter Diagnostics haven't picked up anything either. Any suggestions. Cant really afford a big bill to repair

Hello I've looked everywhere but cannot find a new replacement headlight for my 2009 AUDI Q5 3.0 TDI quattro. The original part ID is 8R0 998 029 A - but that will cost around £750 from Audi! Surely there is another cheaper option that will be compatible? Please help... Thank you Jason

Hi all Sorry if there is already a thread for this, I did search but couldn’t find anything. Had my Q5 hybrid for a couple of weeks now and I’m struggling with the range I’m getting from the batteries, especially in EV mode. Fully charged my car over night on Thursday (12.4kw/hr) when I got in the car the range was stated as 30 miles. As I drove off the drive the range dropped to 24 miles even though I had set the driving mode to hybrid. Based on my calculations I’m only going to get about 10 miles from a full charge even though I’m only pootling around town and driving to and from my office (half a mile away). I’m driving purposely carefully to try and protect my range. what experiences do others have? Should I be speaking to Audi? thanks

HI all, sorry if this question has been asked before but could not find it in previous forums. My dad has a 2.0 TDi 2016 (66 plate) the past few weeks now whenever he starts the car (either if engine is cold or warm) the MMI system will not come on, regardless if he presses the on button on the dash. The only way so far he has managed to fix it is pull out the relevant fuse in the boot. He mentioned this to Audi yesterday as it was going in for its MOT. They had a look (not sure what that intales) and they could find nothing, their next steps was for them to look at wiring if he was to give it back to them. The car has less than 30K on the clock, does about 30 miles a week. Car has never had a problem until now. The MMI is also as upto date has it can be. Any suggestions or ideas? I know this problem can be aimed at any of the Audi range. Thanks for reading and helping! Gregor -
Hi there, we need to get a rear bike rack for 3 bikes, as do not want to fork out on a tow bar system nor roof mounted Thule system as the wife cannot put the bikes there... What suggestions does this club offer up?

A simple question that I can’t seem to get an answer to. Can you oblige please. I have a 2019 Q5, 40tdi, which has a 24 litre adblue tank. Despite all the wonderful technology, there is actually no way that I am aware of establishing the adblue tank content. I am aware that the vehicle tells you when you have 1500 miles left and you need to top up. I am hopefully, travelling to France later in the year, and really don’t want to start faffing about putting adblue in whilst on holiday, so my question is, can I just top it up before the vehicle warning comes on? i would expect to do circa 2k miles whilst on holiday, so chances are without topping up the adblue warning may well light up, and yes, France being diesel capital, I am sure adblue will be readily available, but I would prefer to go over with a full tank. Has anyone used Green Chem adblue, or anything not from Audi they can recommend? Thanks Pete R

One set of silver roof rails and an accompanying carry case, suitable for the B8 (2008-2016) Q5. No reason, I don't think, that they wouldn't also fit an SQ5. These have never been used. Purchased originally for a trip to the Alps in 2015, but we took another car instead. They were a couple of hundred quid new, but if you make me a fair offer just north of £50 plus shipping, I'll do the rest. -

New to this forum, picked up a three month old 2019 Q5 Black edition in October, just had notification of this recall. (Audi) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Audi SQ5 and 2018-2020 Audi Q5 vehicles. The rear wheel arch cover trim may loosen and detach from the vehicle. Audi will notify owners, and dealers will replace the four clips securing the forward part of the rear wheel arch trim, vehicle going in tomorrow, very happy with the vehicle having come from a Golf R estate.

Stuttgart ST3 alloy wheels (20” X 10.0” 5x112). Goodyear Excellence 275/40R20 106Y XL tyres. £900 I bought these alloys/tyres brand new for £1400 to go on my 2010 Q5. They were on the car for 3 weeks before I changed cars again, sadly they don't fit my new car so I am reluctantly selling them. Due to the fact they were only used for three weeks the alloys and the tyres are in excellent, as new condition. Hi guys, Just got a 67 reg Q5 FY model, but seems the Apple CarPlay keeps disconnecting and the screen "No supported device found" keeps popping up. It redirects me to the connection manage page but I'm not sure there is any CarPlay related config there I'm using an iPhone XR with iOS 12.1.3. Has anyone else experience the same issue? Also, does Q5 has wireless CarPlay? YouTube seems to suggest I just need to pair with bluetooth and the wireless CarPlay option should automatically pop up - not the case here... Any help is deeply appreciated! Cheers

Hi everyone - I have just picked up my Q5 18 plate. It was a stock car with tech pack. Unfortunately, the dealer the Audi dealer i bought from hasnt bothered to come back on below questions therefore any advice would be appreciated: How can I check if I have keyless (Smart) access? Does the car come with a Tracker (for insurance purposes)? Coming from a Lexus NX 300h F-Sport i had both, and I just assumed for a car worth £46,000 it would come with both the above too. Picking up my 2014 Q5 S-Line Plus on Saturday. Dealer has agreed to upgrade the Sat Nav maps and firmware to latest version but I need to know what the new version numbers should be... also... how do I find the versions once I'm in the car? It has the Bang & Olufsen unit installed with reversing camera. Thanks in advance TD

Hi All, bought myself a Q5 s-line a few months ago. Best car I’ve ever owned. I’m currently only disappointed in the false claim re: MPG as it’s not achievable! its a 190bhp 2.0 diesel. It achieves approx 420 miles per tank ( full tank upto reserve - not to total empty) Mid 30’s per gallon of fuel instead of low 50’s. And I drive sensibly. Apart from that. Love the car.

Hi, I have a Q5, and I've noticed a problem recently where the aluminium trim around the centre console dents very easily from just everyday use, I'm currently in a discussion with Audi about whether this is a warrantable item. Clearly everyday use is denting it, however it appears to me that particular trim doesn't seem to be fit for purpose. I've never had the problem before with the piano black or other trims, so just wondered if anyone else has noticed this? Cheers Mark

We are having problems with the Stop Start that are becoming increasingly frequent - and dangerous!In the last three months there have been four occasions when either my wife or I have been through the following sequence of events:1/ Pull up at the stop line to enter a roundabout (we live near Milton Keynes, so there are lots of them!)2/ After a few seconds the 2.0TD engine cuts out (as it should) to save fuel3/ Take foot off brake. Engine restarts.4/ Press accelerator & move out onto roundabout.5/ After 5-10 yards the engine dies & the vehicle comes to a halt.6/ Put auto gearbox back into neutral & restart (as quickly as possible) waving apologies to other motorists!It is only a matter of time before this causes an accident. We have taken to disengaging the Stop-Start completely. But this should not happen.At this moment we are driving an A4 Avant courtesy car, having refused to take the fully serviced Q5 back after a service until / unless the Audi dealer sorts it out.The fact they cannot find it on their analyser is neither here not there. Nor is the fact they have driven to a few roundabouts and been unable to replicate this dangerous problem.

Hey all, new to the forum so dropping in to say hello!Previous A3 owner then after driving a BMW I'm back into Audi with a Q5, having a few problems with getting 2 flat tyres in the first 2 weeks and working out the spares situation but that aside I'm happy to be back :)

Hi all my first post one here and I wanted to know if anyone has changed their daytime running lights to LED's? I have a 2009 Q5 with non xenon headlights. i spoke to the local dealer who said it isn't possible to fit LED's as running lights. Just wondered if anyone can say otherwise? If so, which bulbs / sets did you use ? thanks in anticipation

Hi, I have a 2014 SQ5 which has not sat nav. The car has an Audi concert stereo. Can anyone list the parts I needed to add sat nav to the car. I'm guessing I need an Audi multimedia unit and I also need to change the console around the gear stick. Any help anyone could provide would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.
