Welcome Andrew and thanks for joining. By your description of ‘a groove wearing ..’ would suggest some component is touching the tyres at the site of the groove - either suspension related, or a steering/ suspension component, rather than an alignment issue. You should be able to determine where by turning the wheels on to full lock and looking under the car. However, as Steve says, it would be well worth you getting the car assessed at a trusted local tyre retailer. Regards, Gareth.

Thank you for response much appreciated. Have a feeling it will be main dealer then, as message on screen says contact main dealer as not enabled. I would rather pop standard one on windscreen. Don't understand why sd cards not widely available though

Got two gauges playing up Oil temp sometimes slams straight over to 180 c before starting give it a tap goes back to where it should then creeps back to 180 will it do this if bad/lost connection ? Or bad dial? Fuel gauge only reads from 7/8 of a tank to full no matter how far I drive this has happened recently was perfect before.

It's probably a case of one issue but mechanics are struggling to diagnose it. What engine has the A1 got and how many miles?

Code P0670 on 2010 1.6 A3 issues .. newbie
Steve Q replied to Jimbo Jones's topic in New Members Introductions
I'd recommend looking at getting the current battery tested, especially if it's over 5 years old. Failing batteries can often throw up electrical gremlins or warning lights. Another common cause of end warning lights is either the brake lights not working or brake light switch. Also worth checking all fuses relating to the braking system just to be sure. -
Please do. In the meantime I shall release your other query that I hid pending a reply here.

Having just watched a few videos on the matter I now appreciate the problem of the foam detaching from the lining. The orange foam looks very like the stuff used in upholstery that crumbles and degrades as it ages.

Hi, I never bothered when I found it how much of the dash had to come out. I just use the max windscreen button for the few times a year the flap motor gets it wrong, always seems to be on the warmest days.

My 3.2 dsg is a little jerky at about 2krpm, like it's going to stall by over fuelling, the mk5 r32s also have this.

You need to get a loom converter, no cutting of wires at all. I have a non Bose concert and fitted a pioneer MVH-S240DAB. Only thing added was a powered dab antenna, the kit came with a patch lead to enable the use of the rear speakers and subwoofer.

Least yours is easy, my dsg has 2 drain plugs, strange I know.

When the child lock is disengaged, the door only opens from the outside

No they didn't. I would have taken that if I could. Tony

Yeah it’s all just nuts and bolts at the end of the day!! The actuator only seems to have a threaded nut to set it so I think if I could find the tolerance or measurement online it’s not too tricky. There were no issues with the oil feed and no leaks. Gaskets were all fine except for the one between the manifold and the EGR so I replaced that one. I’m using an Ancel VD700 to read codes etc but it’s not throwing out any codes. As a side note I’ve driven 300 miles today and it’s not happened so it’s one of those intermittent things. I’ll find it at some point I guess!!

Many thanks, I’ll give it a go 👍

Audi A6c8 rear spring lower mounting corrosion
spartacus 68 replied to Mickwillow's topic in Audi A6 (C8) Forum
Waxoil won't stop the corrosion. The alloy insert is there to strengthen the rubber suspension seat. It corrodes from the inside. Leave it and you risk the spring breaking. Easier to replace on a 2WD car. On quattro, you can remove lower shock mount. You need a piston jack to extend lower trailing arm down. Worst case scenario, loosen subframe bolt a few turns too. No need to undo the eccentric bolt either. -
Hello, I cant find them on there but thanks for the heads up, I made sure when i got these they were actually new stock not already a few years old like many have on offer. I Got these for my A8 so thought maybe a popular size to offer to members.
