It could be a faulty sensor but I would not take the chance and whip it into a garage for them to check it out. If it has consumed a quantity of oil then I would look at where it is going and possibly change the grade Let us know how you get on with this Cheers, Trevor

Only thing I would suggest is to get a quality battery as opposed to a budget one as it will make a huge difference overall. Off load, should be around 12.8 volts (resting) and under load around 14.8 volts and then see what it does with cranking over with the headlights on (how dim do they go and how quick do the volts drop) Let us know how you get on with Darren

Hi Darren, the only thing that jumped out to me throughout the whole of the list was the battery/supply voltage. If the battery is old and in need of replacement this can lead to a residual drain and I would probably start there....sounds just like Jaguars when the battery goes weak, comes up with all sorts of spurious faults. Let us know what you find out once you've rectified whatever it is you find to be at fault. Cheers, Trevor

Hi Mark That's not good for the age of the vehicle however, could you swap it out for one in Piano Black if they provide one to you?

Wouldn't say that you'd lose any power, more a case of having more turbo lag until the pressure builds up.

It wouldn't take too long to check the brake pads especially if you chuck it into a local garage for them to do the job

It would be interesting to see what the difference in performance is when you fit the intercooler (which I assume you will be purchasing before the remap) as it would be more difficult to see the difference once its remapped....(if that makes sense?)

I got the same problem on one my cars and have to set the temperature to high when heater is switched off just to stop the draught

What was the measurement for the other balljoint? If it is substantially smaller or larger then I would assume that it is the 20mm that you have fitted

Hi Steve, I would say that each of the responses are possibilities and ones that need investigating individually. I have come across this sort of fault before and apart from the obvious brake fluid boiling and leaving an air pocket, there are other areas to look at as well. Hoses, Servo, ABS (bleed fluid from the unions on the modulator block as this never gets replaced unless the ABS invokes), calipers, stuck pads in carrier, stuck caliper sliders, and probably a whole host of other areas but I would go through those first. Maybe the pads are the easiest to remove, clean and refit but if you have to prise any out then there's your problem. Good luck and let us know how you get on mate, if we don't hear from you then.... Probably pure coincidence that the TPMS light went off at the same location, cannot think why it didn't measure a smaller rolling diameter when you lost all air...weird! At least the upside is the increased MPG though, :-)

Hi George The coolant issue does sound like a faulty sensor and the air cond, does it need regassing I wonder?
