New memember
Hi Richard...welcome to the Forum Sorry to hear you've had major issues with your Audi's. It does seem to be a major problem with the TFSi engine and something which should be sorted by Audi with regards to a recall or financial assistance....mainly because it is not a serviceable maintenance component. Keep posting! Cheers Trevor

2.0tfsi regular misfire on tickover
A modern engine should not vent to atmosphere but the venting noise could be an air pump/valve or even acoustic valves in the inlet manifold, but it may be worth checking it with a specialist Audi repairer to ensure it is not doing any damage to the engine. What motorcycle(s) do you have?

Immobilizer reprogram
Keep us informed and if possible if you could put a brief description on here about the process that would be really helpful to anyone else who has the issue and we can then place it in the Technical Section of the Forum. Cheers Trevor

water coming into the boot
Hi Karen....welcome to the Forum That's not particularly good news for a new Audi but I think it stems from poor design as opposed to a defect. The manufacturer may bring out a modification for it in time, but worth nagging them as this may push through something sooner. Probably best not to put a laptop in the boot this time of year as when you bring it inside it tends to sweat with condensation from going from the cold into the warm and this can lead to internal corrosion. Let us know how you progress with any modifications Regards Trevor

2.0tfsi regular misfire on tickover
Hi Nick...welcome to the Forum I would run a scan on the engine management system to see if there are any fault codes logged for the misfire. If not, then it could be virtually anything, even the quality of the engine oil or vacuum leaks....best to test the individual systems before replacing any components though. Keep us informed on how you get on with this Cheers Trevor

2L A6 S Line Ultra TDI Black edition - Newbie question ?
I would say that 44mpg is not too bad overall but way short of manufacturer claims. The manufacturer claims have recently been proved as inaccurate as they were carried out on a rolling road simulation...so I wouldn't worry too much about what they claim. Several A7 owners have complained of even lower mpg figures. Remapping may increase economy so possibly worth looking into. Cheers Trevor

Boot not locking

A5 3.0 TDI Quattro S-line - Coolant leak Porous heads (engine)
oh my goodness...that's still a huge amount of money. I would certainly contemplate putting some coolant stop leak in the system first to see if that cures it because porous castings are only where there was an air pocket when casting the component and a simple stopleak solution 'cures' the minute hole and may last the life of the engine.

Suspension height / spare parts.
Hi Steven...welcome to the Forum I wonder if the springs are from a diesel engine version which would be heavier and therefore maybe the ride height is higher with only the weight of a petrol engine in it? Otherwise, you got yourself a bargain there! Cheers Trevor

Warning lights
HI Calvin...welcome to the Forum I would agree with everything that Magnet has said but it may also be worth checking the number plate lights as there may be two of them and only one working? Let us know how you get on with it all Cheers Trevor

Advice re choice
Hi Simon...welcome to the Forum I don't think you can go wrong with an early(ish) A4 and I would always prefer a Diesel for the economy and durability. As regards what to look for...service history from a reputable garage, not particularly a dealership and ensure all planned maintenance replacement items (such as cambelt and fluids) are replaced when they should have been. Let us know how you get on with it all. Cheers Trevor
