  1. Glad it's nearly sorted 🙂
  2. Most of you will know my saga. I'm now looking for a used or reconditioned 2.5tdi engine with bau engine code. Reconditioned preferable but appreciate its like rocking horse poo. Alternatively a low mileage engine which must have proof of service history. Breakers and sellers on eBay seem to think that service history doesn't matter. As they'll tell you the mileage of an engine without providing proof. Or proof of its maintenance. I've trawled eBay, and Facebook groups with no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated 👍 🙂
  3. Not sure if they're connected. I guess one way to check if it's not working properly is doing a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up.
  4. I agree with the above. Don't forget to include international sellers when using eBay. I know how hard it is though looking for parts for older audis.
  5. You're welcome glad I could help and glad it'll love to fight another day 🙂 Gel free to bring it along to the shows on our club displays.

I agree with Gareth it should lock.
  7. Yea my colleague bought hee new it was a 2016 model.
  8. I'd expect 40s unless just town driving and short trips.
  9. I'm not sure but I'd get this into a garage to be checked asap if it were mine.
  10. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. When was the auto box last serviced?
  11. That's odd. If within 30 days take it back to the supplying dealer to sort as this should be done FOC
  12. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 Very nice, sure you'll enjoy it in summer, if we get any!
  13. Fingers crossed they got a good one 🤞
  14. How old is the battery? If the battery is starting to fail it can throw up various electrical issues.
  15. My colleague has a fiesta with 40k miles. Engine just gone bang.
  16. Too true, what would be worse is an eco boost with a powershift auto gearbox!
  17. Any update on your situation Will?

No probs at all. Once seats are out I think the plastic side trims round the base of the door apertures unclip and some clips just under the dash. Please keep us posted on how you get on
  19. I agree with Gareth, take it to a local garage. If it does have an electronic handbrake when this will need to be put in the service position by vcds or similar
  20. Looks fantastic 🙂👍
  21. Was it bought privately or via a dealer?

Had a look on YouTube. Here's a couple of vids that might be useful Seat removal
  23. Thought I'd do a guide highlighting which Audi models had a timing chain or Cambelt driven 4.2 V8 for reference. All C5 models equipped with the 4.2 V8 excluding allroad is belt driven which is much better to service, and All D2 A8,S8, and D3 A8 up to 2006 The models that use the modified FSI chain driven 4.2 V8 engines are the C5 Allroad (BAS engine code), C6 A6, D3 A8, and A8L starting in 2007, S4, RS4, Q7. An engine pull is required to service the timing chain on these FSI units due to the location being at the back of the engine next to the firewall. overall the belt driven engines are better serviceable and also have less issues if well maintained. The chain driven 4.2 is known for overheating issues and timing chain issues.
  24. Can't recommend trees but I'd recommend a full wheel alignment and Speedo recalibration as it could be out more than normal.
