Audi A6 Avant 2002 / oil warning light on ... plenty of oil
I'd say it could be an oil pressure switch. I'd also recommend getting an oil flush too.

Climate control issues
I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Could be a motor the climate control module.

2.7 tdi vs 3.0 tdi
I believe the two common issues are with the timing chain and injectors/injection module etc. As with any Audi engine service history is key.

A3 8V Sportback switch in boot
Sorry, it looked like a 12v socket for a cig lighter. But my eyes aren't great. Yep it could be a clip or could be the latch for that compartment door.

End of the road?
I'd also consider the mercedes om617a turbo diesel engine as fitted in the w123 or w124 as it's a hardy engine. But I'd want one that's new, which will be more expensive and harder to source bits for than the river V8.

End of the road?
Exactly, I could run it on carbs if I wish. Plus no turbo or egr to worry about. Glad it'll fit. Would my 6 speed manual gearbox work or would I need to fit a T5 gearbox?

End of the road?
I'm wondering this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195697202625?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=JbL9iQ_JQSW&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=IE07kO4STZy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY A rover v8 was a suggestion from a colleague ex mechanic. Wondering whether simplicity is the way forward? The question is, would it fit? And would it mate to the current gearbox? 🤔

End of the road?

I believe it's a 12v socket.

End of the road?
Just an update. One of the garages who were looking to do the work ha e informed me that getting internal parts are proving hard to source. I believe this to be true and not being fobbed off as the garage is run by the son of a good colleague of mine. So I may have to look at a totally different engine after all.

Suspension
My friend has used stance + on his A3 8v. You could always look at a bilstein kit.

Recommendations for replacement alternator.
I'm always sceptical of cheap Chinese parts. Can't go wrong with bosh.

water ingress in the boot (take 25) lol
How very strange! Could it be water leaking nout.of the battery?

A4 b8 strut brace

Is there a market for second hand Exhausts
I'd recommend trying to sell it in eBay

MMI unit faulty - crazy cost to replace! HELP!
I don't think the tyre pressure warning light is a failure but happily proven otherwise. Yep it can be done by a retrofitter such as Audi retrofits or autologics. Or try a local vag retrofitter local to you.

S5 4.2 engine removal
Thank you. One garage said they've been struggling to source the parts. So might do a proper engine swap. You've made a great job with yours 🙂

Simply Audi 2023
Simply Audi 2022 Once again it was a cracking show with a great selection of audis. Weather was good. It's such a good value ticket price of £16 as you gain access to the show, museum and manor house. Thanks to everyone who attended, it was great to meet friends both old and new and im looking forward to next year's show. Here's a few pics:

Yep a second hand unit can be coded to the car. Alternatively you could look at an aftermarket apple car play/android auto unit.

List of options.
My advice would be to use a vin decoder which you can find free online. As your vin will store of the information. On top of that there should be a sticker in the boot well which will have various option codes too.
