  1. You're welcome :) Glad we could help :) Cheers Steve
  2. Hi James, welcome to the forum :) You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) My first advice would be to get a diagnostic check carried out to see what, if any fault codes come up. However my guess would be that you need a new thermostat. Cheers Steve
  3. Fingers crossed it's just a service that's required :) whilst it's in at Audi they will do a free vehicle health check and if you ask them, they should be able to tell you what work the a6 has had done at any Audi dealer. Keep us posted on how you get on :) Cheers Steve
  4. Best thing is get a diagnostic check done to establish which part it is. This will cost around £60. If it's the drivers door locking mechanism then I think you'll be looking around £120. I say this, as I paid that much to get a similar issue with my central locking fixed which was due to the drivers door lock going faulty. This job.was done by an auto electrician. I'm unsure how much it would cost to replace the central locking module though, sorry. Cheers Steve
  5. It sounds like the trader is being fair. Let's hope the issue can be resolved quickly :)
  6. No worries :) I've heard they're a good club but do t know much about them. Deffo! We've got other meets near you. The next one is at Beaulieu in April. Cheers Steve
  7. It'll be interesting to see what fault codes come up. As you have only had the car one day, it might be worth contact in the seller. I'm assuming you bought it from a dealership? Cheers Steve
  8. Welcome to the forum James, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Sorry to hear you're having issues with your a6. It looks a lovely car. Probably a long shot but I'm wondering whether or not you've been able to get a diagnostic check carried out to see if or what fault codes have been thrown up? Cheers Steve
  9. Welcome to the forum Chris, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) What a great collection of Audi's Chris! :) I do love the classic Audi's!! Cheers Steve
  10. Thanks for your kind words :) we try and have a friendly and active club :) And yes we do attend Audi driver international. If you have a look under the show reports section, you'll.see last year's show pics and write up :) once this years show has been fully confirmed then I'll organise a club display. You'll be more than welcome to display your Audi on the display with us! :) Cheers Steve

  17. Welcome to the forum Gurdeep, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) As the others have said, this is normal and is just the Diesel particulate filter doing a regeneration. This basically helps keep the dpf clear and stops it clogging with soot. Cheers Steve
  18. Hi James welcome to the forum :) You'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) My first port of call would be to check the key fob batteries. If you have checked that then I'm wondering if your car battery is on its way out? Once batteries start to fail they cause unusual electrical issues. Getting the battery checked would be my next suggestion. The usual life expectancy of a battery is approx 7 years, but they can last up to 10. The other 2 things I can think of is either the central locking module is on its way out or the drivers door locking mechanism is also failing. The drivers door mechanism controls the rest of the central locking. However I believe these 2 faults would show up on a diagnostic check. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
  19. Hi Russell, welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) I believe the dash inserts just clip into the dash but you'll probs need to remove switch gear and other items that are around the inserts. I've found this video on YouTube on how to remove the dash on a b9 which may be useful. Cheers Steve
  20. Welcome to the forum Rich, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) You've had a nice selection of Audi's and I bet you can't wait for the s4! :) Cheers Steve
  21. Wow! They look great! :) They really.smarten the a3 up :) Cheers Steve
  22. Sorry to hear your having this issue Dave but at least Audi have found the fault quickly and given you a courtesy car. I wonder how the glass roof has got damaged. Please keep us posted on how you get on. Cheers Steve
  23. Correct Pete! :) Sorry for the delayed reply I hadn't seen your response. Here's a new one. Again this is from a crime drama :) Cheers Steve
  24. Hi Jay, Just an off thought with this.... If and when you are coming to sell your Q5 you'll have to make the new owner aware that you've turned off these features, so that they don't think there is something wrong with the car. Cheers Steve
