  1. Now you've asked the age old question. Part of it will come down to how much sentiment you have with it. I've got a A6 c5 which isn't a classic yet. Going to do an engine rebuild on mine after it blew up at 344k. My dad bought it new so it's sentimental to me. So I'll be getting it all sorted. But looking at bills of 7k all in once you consider engine rebuild, turbo, clutch and duel mass flywheel etc.
  2. I'd recommend you speak to darkside developments about this.
  3. So after languishing at the garage since Feb, my A6 is finally home. I might attempt removing the turbo to get it ent off etc to try and learn the mechanics of the car. I figure.ive got nothing to loose.
  4. Nice one, glad you got sorted. A right up would be great when ever possible 🙂
  5. Service history is key. Japan car will definitely be well taken care of due to Japanese very strict mot rules. Obviously make sure sat nav etc all works in English. Make sure auto gearbox and quattro system services are documented. Out of curiosity, what is making you consider imported Audi's instead of those originally supplied to the UK?

It's only a quarter of the Amazon rainforest lol 🤣
  7. Please let us know how you get on
  8. Look a T YouTube videos for buyers advice. Check for timing chain rattle on start up. Timing chain needs doing around 100k. What's the service history on it? Has gearbox and quattro system been serviced? Do all electrical items work? Have a look under A7 section as certain models can eat Dunlop tyres.
  9. What's the fault code fault? Could it be a glowplug, injector, cank sensor or injector module issue. Could it also be a fuel pump issue?
  10. Water mdy have got in via the pollen filter housing or battery tray if drain holes are blocked. Also consider leaking window or sunroof seals.
  11. I'd be very careful with any car cover as even breathable ones can cause moisture build up in the cabin causing mould. Or blistering paint etc. Could you not put up a fabric canopy above the car?
  12. Could be head gasket. Any smoke from exhaust? Or heater matrix. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up
  13. Make a note of the codes. Then clear them. See what ones come back and change the relevant parts on the codes that return in the code reader.
  14. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up too. Could be turbo, fuel or air issue but I'm guessing

Don't worry I do too, 21 years worth!
  16. I'm surprised it doesn't have it for 18" wheels. Is it in the handbook?

Thank you. Maintenance is key. Keep on top of it, and it should be reliable.
  18. Definitely could be the rack.
  19. I suspected as much. Hopefully it won't be too expensive
  20. If they've done the work and not fixed it then it should fall back to them.
  21. That's insane
  22. How long did you drive with the fault?
  23. Not quite sure. I'd recommend speaking to an air conditioning specialist
  24. Audi should be able to tell you.
  25. No I don't think it does. Headlights are different.
