The software updates can only be done by Audi I believe.

If you bought it from a dealer within the last 30 days I'd recommend you take it back for them to repair. They should repair this foc. It could be an issue with the pollen filter housing or clogged battery tray holes.

I might be going, but I haven't got a ticket booked as I was just going to turn up on the day. I won't be in my Audi though as it's off the road needing an engine rebuild.

Autologics or Audi retrofits can do this. Not cheap upgrade though.

Engine option will depend on your amount of driving per year and type of mileage

Fyi another engine swap idea is the Isuzu 2.5 diesel.... They're more bomb proof that Toyota engines!

I know on the A6 c5 induction kits etc are pointless and the stock airbox is actually best. You.might.be better going for an.upgraded panel filter from k&n ect. As heat soak will be your biggest issue with induction kits.

You could search eBay including eBay Europe. I get how you feel as I'm trying to source an engine for my a6.

I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. The knocking in my case on my old a6 is the crankshaft. Hopefully yours won't be that bad.
