  1. Hmm dealers don't usually fit aftermarket alarms etc. This will have been fitted by an owner.
  2. I can't speak for Audi, but I had continental tyres on my ford Kuga daily and have to say I was shocked on how fast they did wear out. Got 15k miles out of them in the end. They must be a soft compound. Needless to say I personally won't use continental for this reason. My A6 used Bridgestone tyres. But cant comment on wear as it's only doing 6k miles a year.
  3. As I tell anyone who buys an old Audi. Regardless of how cheap the car becomes the bills always remain expensive.
  4. Is it an electronic tailgate or are you trying to close it manually?
  5. Think the car might need to be booked in with an auto electrican.
  6. The engine temp gauge read normal. As it could be the thermostat. In failing that you could do a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up as there could be an issue with the heater module, control unit etc.
  7. Check the service history. Is it full? Has the gearbox oil change been done on time. Has the quattro system been serviced on time. Do all electrical items work? As they can be expensive to fix. Does the AC work. Check YouTube for buyers guides.
  8. I fitted A6 c7 ones to my A6 c5 as they're the fan type. You might need an adapter plate. My guide can be found in the A6 c5 section
  9. Glad you got sorted 🙂 hmm I wonder if the cobra system is still active?
  10. Which radio is it? Can you upload a picture?
  11. I think it is just clipped in but not 100% certain
  12. Sounds an electrical.fault. How old is the battery? As old batteries can cause all sorts of electrical issues. Especially if the alternator isn't charging it?
  13. You're welcome 🙂 the c5 is my speciality 😉
  14. You're welcome, glad you got sorted 🙂
  15. Glad you got sorted 🙂 insurance is a ripoff
  16. Ridiculous. One reason why I try and buy from eBay where I can. I've used OEMvwshop too which are good.
  17. Dont think there is a way round it.
  18. Steve Q replied to Jay D's topic in Audi Q5 Club
I'd recommend speaking to autologics or Audi retrofits as members have used them for this sort of thing. I doubt it'll be cheap though
  19. There should be various Bluetooth adapters that plug into the back of your current radio depending on what radio it is.
  20. I always went off the rule what ever figures the dealer claimed, take 10mpg off them for a roughly realistic figure
  21. It depends if the car is set up on long life servicing or not. Audi would be able to tell you. And inform you of all the work it's had in its life by Audi. Filter change may depend on engine but I think it's roughly 5 years or 50k. Whichever comes first
  22. Please keep us posted on how you get on 🙂
  23. Could be the heater control unit. Contact Julius from this eBay link. He breaks c5s. I've had bits from him. Very helpful. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163720125396?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=J_mXsPy2Qdi&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=IE07kO4STZy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  24. Glad you got sorted 🙂
