  1. That's great to hear 😊 an early Christmas present then! And for the work involved I think the price is reasonable 👍
  2. I'd be speaking to an auto electrician about this as it could be a wiring issue. As your car has Bose then the sub should be in the passenger side boot panel I think. The first thing I'd do if you're mechanically minded is take off the door cards and inspect the wiring. Also this link might help: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/111890-A6-2-5-TDI-SE-power-crackle-through-stereo-on-start-up
  3. Hey Martin you are correct your car wouldn't have had Bluetooth but a car phone has definitely been fitted from factory. The Audi phones are often Nokia ones and you can buy them from ebay. Alternatively you could get a parrot kit or similar or speak to a retrofitter to see if they can install factory Bluetooth into your mmi.
  4. I'd try euro car parts or similar motor factors. I had to get Sach rear shocks for my a6 as genuine Audi ones are no longer manufactured (my a6 from 2002). They seem ok but long term I think I'd like to invest in an uprated performance set up from Bilstein or similar.
  5. I believe E is eco mode. I suspect the car won't put itself in eco mode straight away as it wants to get the engine and gearbox up to running temperature. I think this should be mentioned in the owners handbook.
  6. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ Here's a guide to painting brake calipers I did:
  7. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ great to see another c5 on here. Looks to be in great condition 👍 My a6 is on 338k
  8. Thanks Gareth, hope you have a great Christmas and hope you have a happy healthy and prosperous new year 🙂
  9. It could have knocked the driveshaft or maybe damaged a wheel bearing.
  10. That is annoying. Sometimes the lense can be replaced but you have to hear the headlight up to soften the glue abd then replace the lense using new glue. If you can find a second hand headlight that would be your easiest option but not necessarily the cheapest.
  11. No probs, I feel.your pain. I'm chasing an issue with my central locking, alarm. It's been to an auto electrician and mechanic and they've fixed some fault's with the system but not all. I think I've diagnosed in it as a failing ccm. But it's an expensive gamble. I always guess there might be by aftermarket headunits available which could be an option.
  12. My first thought bwas to try and buy a second hand unit but at £500 I can see your hesitation on this. If an electrical surge could be causing it then my port of call would be to get an auto electrician to check over the whole electrical system. Not sure if this is the right part for your car, but if it is then it could be an option? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A3-8V-2013-2019-MMI-MULTIMEDIA-UNIT-PANASONIC-8V0035874B-/265412137681?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  13. Sounds like a good plan 👍
  14. Is the pump working? I do feel your pain as I need a new ccm in my a6.
  15. You're most welcome, glad I could help 🙂 Believe it or not I believe you can even clean the lense with toothpaste! That'd be great to see your guide after you've done it ☺️
  16. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ Lovely looking a6 👍 bronze would work. Or dark grey?
  17. The lenses can be refurbed and there are plenty of videos on YouTube. Regarding the adjustment screw this link might help: https://www.ttforum.co.uk/threads/mk1-tt-headlight-adjustment-screw.362505/ I've also found this listing on ebay for replacement adjustment screws: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-FRONT-HEADLAMP-HEADLIGHT-ADJUSTER-FULL-KIT-SCREW-BUSH-SET-/193542983849?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  18. Thank goodness for that! Inflation isn't something they took into account. I do believe the country is being run by authoritarian chimpanzees. Actually that's insulting on chimps. Probably more like hyenas.
  19. I think a a3 space saver wheel should work.
  20. Glad you got sorted ☺️
  21. Is it cranking? Are there any lights on the dash? Could it be a dead battery?
  22. Yep it's not just you that's noticed it. I think most people are won over by the amount of warranty they come with. It's scary the price you pay for Toyotas now though! I'm in the same boat. I do t know what I'll change to next.
  23. I think your complaints are felt by lots of motorists with various companies. I have to say I hate vag adaptive cruise control as it can't predict cars moving over etc. We have a Ford van at work and find the lane departure warning ok. It doesn't jerk the wheel it just vibrates the steering wheel if you go over any line. Regarding the brakes, I often find the vehicle health checks ott. They'll tell you parts need changing even if there's 2k Miles in them. I worked as a service advisor for Volkswagen but not on commission to upsell work. Therefore I was straight with the customer telling them that the work wasn't needed yet but it was an advisory. But I was a minority as most service advisors get commission to upsell work on a health check.
