  1. Please keep.us posted on how you get on. I believe ecu are not plugged play. They are coded to each car as they are part of the immobiliser system. I empathise as I feel most mechanics don't understand the coding and it's complexities.
  2. Well as most people would never know if a car they bought had been mapped or not then surely you have plausible deniability or similar? As I suspect if a car has been mapped prior to your ownership and it were to be crashed then I bet insurance could find out when it was mapped by a date stamp of the ECU override if that makes sense?
  3. I don't think so unless the software being used can detect if the adblue system or dpf have been mapped out from working on a diesel for example.
  4. I can't answer the question but it's definitely one of the best colours. Would have been an expensive option when new.
  5. I personally feel spoilers look better being colour coded to the car.
  6. So glad you got this sorted 🙂
  7. Glad you're working through this please keep us posted on how you get on.
  8. Ha e you had a further diagnostic check to see if any further fault codes flag up after the key recoding? There could be an issue with the gearbox megatronics unit but I'm not sure if this would stop the car from cranking. Taking it back to basics, it needs to be established if the car is getting fuel and air. As such, could it be an issue with the high pressure fuel pump? It could also be an electrical issue relating to a crank sensor, can sensor, injector or immobiliser. I would advise getting a second opinion from another mechanic before you start throwing money/parts at it randomly in hoping to fix the problem.
  9. No probs at all please keep me posted 🙂
  10. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂
  11. Yep Sunday 19th would work 🙂
  12. I don't get a lunch break unfortunately due to working in the care sector.
  13. I wouldn't be able to collect untill 4:30 due to finishing work at 4. Bless ya, sorry you've had issues selling on eBay.
  14. Congratulations on your new grandson! 🎉🎊🥳 I'm based in Leicester. So could meet you at the Leicester forest east services (junction 21) depending on time as I'll be working 9-4 (I work 30 mins from the services). If recommend listing the lights on eBay.
  15. You're welcome how are you getting on with your search?
  16. Imitation is the best form.of flattery
  17. Have you looked to see if darkside developments sell anything? You'll be looking at products from sach or Luk.
  18. Could it be an issue with the driver's door module? As this controls the rest of the door modules I believe.
  19. With the miles you do petrol would be better. With diesels the dog can clog if engine not getting up to temperature and is costly to replace.
  20. Steve Q replied to a post in a topic in Audi A4 (B9) Forum
Autologics or audi retrofits might be able to do the work. Members have used them with other retrofits and been happy with their services.
  21. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 glad to see another fellow A6 c5 owner on here.
  22. Well if the spare key is the same then that makes me think it's an issue with the car.
  23. Ha eBay look on YouTube for the rest for your specific mmi.
  24. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. But it could well be the megatronics unit.
