Good plan. No real hints or tips to be honest, just be on top of maintenance 🙂 I'm not too clued up on Bluetooth dongles to be honest. You could always look at an aftermarket head unit with Bluetooth l, android auto etc.

Looks fantastic, sounds like you've got a good plan to get it recommissioned. Slow starting could be worn out glow plugs or injector issue. Any blue smoke on start up could be failed injector seals. Please keep us posted on how you get on

Best place would be eBay including international sellers. I know what it's like though, I've been looking for a glovebox for my A6 C5 for 3 years.

What's with the rudeness? You don't like the answers use Google, Facebook etc. makes me question what research you did in the first place regarding these engines. Alternatively, take it to a garage for a proper diagnosis like every car owner who isn't mechanically minded has to do.

I've tried to help you, and I haven't been negative just advised you. I'd missed the part about no smoke or smell. With no smoke or smell it could still be a leak. I find you're not being particularly nice when I've tried to help you. We're passionate about the Audi brand and are enthusiasts but not all mechanics! I did some Googling for you which is where my advice has come from. As I've never used any of the products you have are mentioning I can't advise. I wonder if it's similar to the golf mk,4 etc where you'd need the correct stalk and wiring harness. I'd recommend buying the parts from the US if you know yiu can definitely get them there. I'm surprised UK cars didn't have it.

I'm surprised it hasn't got the feature. On older audis to have it retrofitted you need the modules, wiring harnesses etc and have it all coded.

I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Is it a standard mmi or an aftermarket one? Sounds like it's been messed about with and dismantling it might give you some answers.
