It could be the sensor. If recommend getting an auto electrican to take a look.

Is the key in the right place? I'd be interested to see what adapter you e gone for.

Did the AA so any diagnostic checks? Could it be a fuel pump issue trying to get fuel through?

The drivers door lock mechanism controls the whole central locking. This could be the issue. Could also be the key receiver.

Sorry to hear you've lost interest. It can often happen when lots of faults occur in a short time. I had that with a Volvo 940.

Have a look.on.the Celtic tuning website as there's a configurator that allows you to see the increase fuel savings for your specific model.

Make sure all electrical items work and ac. Has the gearbox been serviced? Has the quattro system been serviced? Are the tyres the same brand and tread on each axle as uneven tyre wear or mismatched tyres can damage the quattro system. I'd also recommend you check out buyers guides on YouTube as they'll help. high mileage cars can be reliable if looked after. My A6 is on 344k miles, has been owned by my family from new and is over services if anything. I'm a stickler for maintenance though.

I think you'll definitely need to get the lights coded. Along with ballast boxes and modules.

Air suspension can play up. So factor in the expense of having to change a airbag or the compressor at some point. Make sure all electrical items work and ac. Has the gearbox been serviced? Autologics have been used by various members for retrofits and come recommend. It won't be a cheap job. Besides the loom and seats you'll need the updated control panel and it all being coded to the car.

I'd just recommend getting this into.thendealernas it's under warranty. It'll need a diagnostic check at least.

Totally different engine but I paid £650 for my 2002 A6 2.5tdi at my trusted independent garage. Bare in mind the front end has to come off. £1000 seems very expensive. Don't forget some garages will over charge on a job they don't want to do.

How often is it doing it? And is it during any specific conditions such as cold, raining etc? The dealer can do extensive test drives on it which will increase the chance of the issue showing up.
