You're welcome 🙂 that I'm not sure. Does it need coding to the car? My car is pre canbus so all I have to do is put in the code. I suspect yours will need to be coded.

The gear issue could be a linkage or synchromesh -
Could it be an issue with the gearbox? How did the engine destroy itself?

You're welcome. The socket will be hidden under the dash and may have a cover protecting it. -
Mines got the shade too. They're a nightmare to source as mine is also broken. The plastic goes brittle

No probs at all. You might be able to get machined aluminium end caps like you can for the c5. They're not cheap though.

I think the q3 is only available with an s tronic gearbox. Either 6 speed 7 speed or 8 speed depending on engine.

Those issues are well documented. I'd recommend you look at some YouTube videos on buyers guides etc. Make sure all electrical items work as some can be expensive to replace/repair such as the AC or mmi.
