Glad you've got the part number. It's sods law it's a rare airbag, I know that feeling when needing parts. Perseverance pays off 🙂
I'm all good thank you, how are you keeping?

If there's a musty smell I bet the battery drain holes in the scuttle panel- engine side bulkhead were clogged. Water then escapes through the holes in the bulkhead right where the CCM is ultimately frying it. Worth checking nthe area regularly to prevent it happening bargain.
Worth noting a replacement CCM might need recoding to the car. But not 100% sure.

Are you doing the spraying your self or getting them professionally refurbed. Of it's the latter then they should be able to find out from Audi what the paint code is.

First option is more complicated and expensive than you think. It's more than just getting the head unit. Plus getting it retro fitted my by cost prohibitive.
Second option could be a better for you. But either way I'd be getting a professional to do the install.

I too had a search without too much success. If The control module has failed it can flag up multiple faults. You haven't got wet front carpets by any chance have you?

My advice would be to test drive and see. Also don't forget if you get a newer model you can always fit a stainless steel sports exhaust to improve the engine note 👍
