  1. Hi Gareth I could have sworn it was sulphur, but I do see your point. I'm sure there's something in the new petrol which makes it harder for older petrols to run on.
  2. Welcome to the forum Vanessa, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 Here's one on eBay with the part number: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203006343586 Cheers Steve
  3. German carmaker Audi has apologised for an ad showing a little girl eating a banana in front of a high-performance car, which drew a torrent of criticism on Twitter. "We hear you and let's get this straight: We care for children," Audi tweeted in its apology. "We sincerely apologize for this insensitive image and ensure that it will not be used in future." Critics said the child's pose was "provocative" and life-threatening. Some pointed out that the driver would not be able to see the child in that pose, leaning on the grille. Others said the image was sexually suggestive, as bananas and sports cars have often been seen as symbols of male lust. Audi's slogan in English above the image reads: "Lets your heart beat faster - in every aspect." The firm says it is now investigating how the ad came to be published. In May the German car giant Volkswagen, owner of Audi, became embroiled in a similar social media row. Its ad showed a dark-skinned man being manoeuvred around by a pair of white women's hands, before being flicked away from a yellow VW Golf to a jaunty soundtrack. The full ad for the Audi RS 4 on the firm's website shows it being marketed as a family car - and that was apparently the context for the controversial Twitter ad featuring the little girl eating a banana. https://bbc.in/33nNL8J
  4. Is the door shutting properly? I ask as on my a6 the door hinges fail due to age causing the door to not shut properly despite the car believing it is. And the only way you can tell it's not shut is by seeing the door slightly ajar. Cheers Steve
  5. Few pics of simply Audi, taken by fellow moderator Edd 🙂
  6. Too true! But the other assault on older cars is the change of fuel mixture. For example the new petrol being produced has more sulphur in it which I believe can damage older petrol engines and fuel systems. As you say once they've got rid of petrol/diesel electric cars will not only be taxed to death but the cost to us both in electricity price increases as you stated, but also the increase in taxes due to the I creased need to build more power stations.
  7. Welcome to the forum Lee, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 Lovely looking a7 🙂 Cheers Steve
  8. I think the allroad is different due to the chunkier wheel arches
  9. I worked at Volkswagen and hated it when we had customers in for the recalls. The amount of time it couldn't be done due to faults found on the diagnostic check just got customers mad. I would always advise people not to have the emissions recalls done as it wasn't worth the risk in my eyes. The road tax situation is a joke. I mean my Audi is now in semi retirement so doesn't do anywhere near the miles it once did but tax is still £250. That's the same with my old Ford escort which is slightly higher than that! And the escort only comes out occasionally, weather dependent of course. Yet a Prius can have free road tax due to hybrid yet the petrol engine is worse for the environment.
  10. Funnily enough there's a similar thing with mercs also at the moment. Guess they're looking for new things to chase now the ppi compensation has ended.
  11. Might be worth plugging the car into vagcom or similar to see if there's any fault codes Regarding the issue. Cheers Steve
  12. Glad it's all sorted for you. 🙂
  13. Really sorry for your situation. I wonder if you would get better service bat another Audi dealer. Definitely worth a shot if stoke Audi won't do anything.
  14. Hope you find a buyer soon. 👍
  15. You're welcome, sorry I can't help more. It is a pain of a job. Cheers Steve
  16. You have 30 days to take it back to the dealer you bought it from to rectify the issue. As up to 30 days you are still entitled to a full refund. Cheers Steve
  17. Have you got it in a garage yet and if so What were the fault codes from the diagnostic check? If you break it I'm sure till make more than £300 in parts but that's if you've got the space abd time. It is a Lovely looking TT abd definitely a future classic. I personally wouldn't have said 136k is high miles for a 54 plate car. It's only 8500 miles per year. My a6 is on 332k miles. So id class yours as low mileage 😉 Cheers Steve
  18. Hmm ok, well my advice would be to buy a second hand complete unit from eBay or speak to any independent engineering companies local to you. Cheers Steve
  19. Let them have it untill they fix it. Sorry you're having issues.
  20. Sorry to hear your having these issues. Make sure the warranty is definitely an Audi one abd not 3rd party. Cheers Steve
