  1. Nice one! Glad it's sorted and glad we could help :) Cheers Steve
  2. Welcome to the forum Eddy, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Sorry to hear you've had issues with the a3 but I'm glad to see it's in great hands. Audi's are generally reliable but if shortcuts are made with regard to servicing/repairs then this can lead to problems. I have to say your a3 looks lovely :) Would you mind if I shared your pictures in.our Audi's from around the world thread? Cheers Steve
  3. Hmm, well I'm going to guess with the hotroding scene for stripes which would be late 40s early 50s as I suspect prior to that the technology for stripes/stickers was very limited if not existant. And I agree with paul.on the barrels. In failing that I bet it's something that predates the automobile! I have to say Gareth I love useless information and I have plenty of it stored in my brain! :)
  4. That's fine, just keep me posted :) You'll just buy tickets from VAG tuner live website. He can display his golf with us, the more the merrier in my opinion :) It's on Sunday 8th july at donington park. Here's the link: You'd be more than welcome to display your rs7 with us Simon :)
  5. Glad I could help :) Well I too have an old Audi diesel and even though the tax issue is a concern I feel it more likely that there will be a ban on old cars/ban on diesels from entering cities in the not too distant future. By which I mean 5-10 years I suspect. Before they bring in this type of ban you are more likely to have to pay hefty tolls to enter the cities. Cheers Steve
  6. Good information there Paul :) there are clearly some interesting changes ahead. Especially for new drivers and for the MOT!
  7. Welcome to the forum Darren, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) The things you have to ask yourself is what miles you are doing each year, what kind of miles are these? how long do you intend to keep the car for? Cheers Steve
  8. Welcome to the forum Adam, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) The Q7 is a lovely car and you've got a nice spec :) Hypothetically the timing chain should never need replacing as long as the car has been serviced as per the schedule. A rough running engine can be caused by a stretched timing chain and replacing it is an expensive job. As your Q7 has an automatic gearbox it's worth checking the gears are smooth both in manual and automation mode. On top of this it's worth checking the service history bro see when the gearbox oil was last changed. Obviously the Q7 has Quattro and as such it's important that this works correctly as the system can be sensitive and can even be damaged by mis-matched tyres on the same axle or uneven tyre wear. Here's a couple of YouTube videos which maybe useful: Hope I've helped :) Cheers Steve
  9. Both good suggestions Paul :) I do hope Gareth has the answers :)
  10. Well that's 3 of us guaranteed :) and one maybe. So I'll contact the organisers if you'd like? :)
  11. Hmm well I'm going to get straight and assume the boot is called the boot to put boots in. In the same way the glovebox is for gloves. Didn't the stripes originate from the early 60s AC Cobra?
  12. That's 2 of us then Ryan! I've not bothered with a club display as I've not had enough interest. If I get more interest then I'm happy to arrange the display. I'm more than happy to meet before hand and go to the show with you :) I'll add your name to the list :)
  13. Nice one George I'll add you to the list :) We have a pitch reserved and as we turn up and tell them what club we are part of they direct us to our pitch :) I have the club banner to make it more obvious for the public to notice the club :)

    DSG?

Yes I believe so but don't quote me on that. Truthfully I'm not as clued up on the v6 as other models, sorry. Cheers Steve
  15. That's a great result! Glad it's all sorted and glad we could help :) Cheers Steve
  16. Hello Barry, sorry this topic hasn't been responded to yet. The garage had a wise decision that it was the ballast control unit. However as this is not the fault I would look at 2 other options before replacing the headlight which is costly. One of them is to get a diagnostic check carried out to see if any fault codes flag up. My other suggestion would be to speak to an auto electrician as clearly the light is working by one form or another and could be a bad earth or loose wire. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve

  20. Welcome to the forum, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) If you want power definitely go for the 2.0tdi! I feel the 1.6 is under powered. My dad had one as a company car. Cheers Steve
