Well the worse case scenario is removing them from underneath which would involve removing the headlining which might not be easy with the amount of interior trim that'd need to be removed

You'd be best looking for some second hand ones on eBay. Not sure if they bolt from underneath or on top.

If it soaked the pase get footwell it could have damaged the ccm which is under the carpet. A diagnostic check should flag up a fault code if it's not working properly.

I agree with you. Wasn't this being looked into by the government off the back of findings by the RAC?
