  1. You're welcome, sorry your touch hasn't been responded too earlier. Diesel definitely sounds more suitable to be honest. Yea, keep us posted :) I'd love to see pictures if the exhaust system fitted :) Cheers Steve
  2. Welcome to the forum Sean, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Yes it's possible, you'll need: Headlights Bumper Bonnet Front wings cheers Steve
  3. Well with the autos make sure the gears changes are smooth both in manual and auto modes. And it's worth.checking the service history to see when the gearbox oil was last changed. Some of the a5 models had quattro and this is a great system but make sure it is working correctly. The system can be sensitive and can be damaged by things such as mis-matched tyres on the same axle or uneven tyre wear. Also check the service history to see when thebquattro system.last had an oil change. Also xenon headlights were an extra and it's worth making sure all the lights work as bulbs can be £180 each approx. Also there is currently a recall on certain a5 models due to a fire risk caused by the heating system. It's worth checking to see if this recall has been carried out. However you may find alot of a5 models are still waiting to be called for this recall. Cheers Steve
  4. Welcome to the forum Martin, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) The exhaust will definitely have a better exhaust note and could increase bhp very slightly. If you were to combine the exhaust with a remap then you'd get better results. Ive heard Milltek are a good brand but can't say I've used their products myself. In terms of engines your best deciding which fuel suits you. Obviously if your doing 5-10 miles a day then diesel is no good so petrol would be better. But if you were doing 24+k miles a year then diesel would be the way to go. Cheers Steve
  5. Welcome to the forum Mukesh, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) What engine and gearbox option are you looking at and what age? Cheers Steve
  6. Nice one! Glad we're helpful :)
  7. You're welcome :) Cheers Steve
  8. Don't forget to post a pic of your Audi in.our post a picture of your Audi thread ;) Cheers Steve
  9. Welcome to the forum Andy, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) My first couple of questions are: Are the wheels standard? And is the car lowered? The first thing you could check is if the tyres/wheels are rubbing on either the wheel arch liner, inside of the wheel arch or rubbing on the suspension. Cheers Steve
  10. Hi Alan, This could be caused by a number of things. However when I had a similar issue with my a6 it was caused by the drivers door locking mechanism. According to the auto electrician which fixed my fault he said that on some Audi models the central locking system.is controlled by the drivers door mechanism and when this starts to fail it can cause faults with all the other doors. It cost me £120 to fix my faulty mechanism. Infailing that, it could be the central locking module. But to be sure a diagnostic check could help find the fault or an auto electrician as I used. Cheers Steve
  11. Here are pics of Eddy's a3, he is a fellow member and lives in the Nertherlands.
  12. Thanks :) I'm sorry to hear that. Which Facebook page wasn't very responsive? I hope it wasn't ours?! As I say we're a helpful buch on here and I think the 8p was on the most popular Audi models :) Cheers Steve
  13. Welcome to the forum Les, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Nice to see you've had an interesting collection of Audi's :) Cheers Steve
  14. Hmm a tough one. I have diesel but I do 20-24k miles a year. Depending on the percentage you do of each driving style then I'd question whether petrol would be better for you. Especially as it is still unclear on how far the government will go with regard to taxing diesels. I suspect the resale value will be better with the petrol. Cheers Steve
  15. Nice one! Glad it's sorted and glad we could help :) Cheers Steve
  16. Welcome to the forum Eddy, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Sorry to hear you've had issues with the a3 but I'm glad to see it's in great hands. Audi's are generally reliable but if shortcuts are made with regard to servicing/repairs then this can lead to problems. I have to say your a3 looks lovely :) Would you mind if I shared your pictures in.our Audi's from around the world thread? Cheers Steve
  17. Hmm, well I'm going to guess with the hotroding scene for stripes which would be late 40s early 50s as I suspect prior to that the technology for stripes/stickers was very limited if not existant. And I agree with paul.on the barrels. In failing that I bet it's something that predates the automobile! I have to say Gareth I love useless information and I have plenty of it stored in my brain! :)
  18. That's fine, just keep me posted :) You'll just buy tickets from VAG tuner live website. He can display his golf with us, the more the merrier in my opinion :) It's on Sunday 8th july at donington park. Here's the link: You'd be more than welcome to display your rs7 with us Simon :)
  19. Glad I could help :) Well I too have an old Audi diesel and even though the tax issue is a concern I feel it more likely that there will be a ban on old cars/ban on diesels from entering cities in the not too distant future. By which I mean 5-10 years I suspect. Before they bring in this type of ban you are more likely to have to pay hefty tolls to enter the cities. Cheers Steve
  20. Good information there Paul :) there are clearly some interesting changes ahead. Especially for new drivers and for the MOT!
  21. Welcome to the forum Darren, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) The things you have to ask yourself is what miles you are doing each year, what kind of miles are these? how long do you intend to keep the car for? Cheers Steve
