  1. Right, Question 2. You should have 2 remote keys and an emergency key which is a plastic strip with the key part on the end. If that makes sense? Usually this was kept in the glovebox but owners would remove them as theives cottoned onto the fact this emergency key was in the glovebox. I can't say I've ever heard of deregistering a key but I suspect ordering a new one would bit be cheap. If you do want a new one then this needs sourcing from Audi. Question 3. Audi will have on record all work that has been carried out on your car over the last 10 years and this will include servicing, MOT, warranty and recall work. You should be able to go into any Audi main dealer to get this information. They can also tell you what serve plan the car was on, ie long life or not. You may also be able to ting out to get all this info but I think owners have found it hit and miss as staff aren't always willing to divulge information over the phone due to confidentiality and data protection act etc. I would like to think that as it's been serviced at an independent garage for the last 2 services then there should be paperwork to back this up? You are right in saying that there are 2 types of audi service plan and normally the car will stay on the plan it was assigned when new regardless of the miles you cover. Most VAG cars are on long life servicing now. I would like to think that this info is on.the paperwork for the last service and in failing that I'd ring the garage to confirm which servicing schedule it's on. Question 4. If you are still.on.the orginal battery and the car being 10 years old then I'd say it will be due for replacement soon. The average life expectancy of a battery is 5-7 years. You could always take it to halfords for them to check the battery as they can test it. Also I believe the battery us under the passenger seat, but don't quote me on that. Hope I've helped :) Cheers Steve
  2. Hmm, well I'll have to rack my brain as this has me stumped. I bet it's something really obvious that I'm not seeing!
  3. Wow, now that is smart! :) A thread with advice for other members would be awesome. It's the best way we all learn :) Cheers Steve
  4. Welcome to the forum Edward, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) Nice to see another Leicestershire lad on here :) where abouts are you? The short answer is yes but you'll need a custom exhaust system. Cheers Steve
  5. You're welcome :) the other option could be to try a local breakers yard as they'll be getting cars in all the time with service history and the handbooks 😉
  6. Glad you got sorted Martyn :) Have you got any pics of the new install? :) Cheers Steve
  7. Thanks! :) Darn it! Well in light of the clue I'm going to say either to do with insurance or banger racing or similar.
  8. Well we all learn from experience :) let us know if you need any help :)
  9. Hi Steve, If no one has one then I'd say your best bet would be eBay or the main dealer. Sorry if this is stating the obvious. They shouldn't be too expensive new I would have thought. Cheers Steve

You're welcome, glad I could help :) The 1.8 engine is good as long as it's been looked after. It's worth checking the service history to see what work it's had done. The manual 6 speed gearboxes are good I've never had an issue with my a6 6 speed and it's now on 328k :) Cheers Steve
  12. Lol let's hope not! Mind you that would be interesting to see on the tracker!!
  13. Not long to go now then! :)
  14. As we are probably all aware barn/field finds are hot topics right now in the car world. Here's a selection of pictures of abandoned Audi's from Google images. Enjoy! :)
  15. I bet it does! But I can understand why they can give you an exact time frame as it's all down to how many cars they can manufacture and how quickly.
  16. What a guess! 😀 Here's a new one it's from a film that started out as a comic
  17. Now the Automobile Association started out as a type of club if I'm correct. And at the time 20s-30s they did road rallies to test a cars endurance and reliability. The RAC did this too. I do hope I'm correct :) Abit random but here's a pic of me with an old AA box in Norfolk :)
  18. Glad you're happy with it :) should be a lovely car :)
  19. You're welcome :) Very nice :)
  20. Hi Nizam, The old rule of thumb was what ever the manufacturer implied take atleast 10mpg off it. I'd suspect that around town youd be getting g low 30s and obviously a mixture of driving this may go up to mid 40s at a guess. Cheers Steve
  21. Not a problem Paul, see you at simply Audi :) once I hear anything more about this cruise then I'll let you know :)
